This website is operated by Gems and Stuff. Throughout this site, the terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Gems and Stuff. We offer this website, including all information, tools, and services available, to you, the user, subject to your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies, and notices outlined here.
By visiting our site and/or making a purchase, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service” or “Terms”), including any additional terms and policies referenced herein or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including, but not limited to, browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and contributors of content.
Please carefully review these Terms of Service before accessing or using our website. By accessing or using any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of the terms and conditions of this agreement, you may not access the website or use any services. If these Terms of Service are considered an offer, acceptance is expressly limited to these Terms.
Any new features or tools added to the current store will also be subject to these Terms of Service. You can review the most up-to-date version of the Terms of Service at any time on this page. We reserve the right to update, modify, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates and/or changes on our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the online e-commerce platform that enables us to sell our products and services to you.
Refund & Exchange Policy
Our refund and exchange policy is valid for 14 days from the date you receive your order. If 14 days have passed since delivery, unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund or exchange.
Refunds
To be eligible for a refund, the item must be unused, in its original condition, and returned in its original packaging. You must also provide proof of purchase, including all accompanying documents, certificates, ring boxes, and any other items received with your order. Only regular-priced items are eligible for a refund; sale items are non-refundable.
Please note:
- Customers are responsible for all shipping costs associated with returns.
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you via email or WhatsApp regarding the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, the refund will be processed (excluding shipping costs) and credited to your original method of payment within a 10 business days.
If more than a 10 business days has passed and you have not received your refund, we recommend the following steps:
- Check your bank account again.
- Contact your credit card provider, as processing times may vary.
- Contact your bank for further clarification on refund processing times.

Exchanges
We only allow one exchange per order within the 14-day exchange period. If you need to request an exchange for the same item, please contact us at info@gemsandstuff.co.za
Additional Exchange Guidelines:
- All defective or damaged items must be reported within the 14-day exchange period either via email or our WhatsApp line.
- Items will be assessed by our goldsmith to determine whether the damage is due to a manufacturing defect or negligence/wear and tear. If the latter, repair costs will be the customer’s responsibility.
- If the item being exchanged has been resized or engraved by us, a refurbishment fee will apply:
- Sterling Silver: R350
- Gold (Yellow, White, or Rose) & Platinum: R600
- Customers are responsible for all shipping costs, including returns from regional areas.
Warranty & Assessment Policy
At Gems & Stuff, we do not offer a general warranty or guarantee on our products. However, we do provide a 3-month assessment period from the date of purchase. During this time, if an issue arises with your item that is not clearly the result of wear and tear, you may return the item to us—at your own shipping cost—for an evaluation by our master goldsmith. The assessment process typically takes approximately 6 business days, excluding shipping time to and from our workshop.
Following the assessment, we will provide you with feedback and available options. Should we not receive further instruction from you within 10 working days, your item will be returned to you in its assessed, unrepaired condition.
GRA Certificate & Moissanite Warranty
Please note that the GRA warranty applies exclusively to the Moissanite center stone in engagement rings. This limited warranty confirms the authenticity of the Moissanite and ensures that its core characteristics (e.g., brilliance, fire, and clarity) will remain unchanged over time.
To qualify for a replacement under this warranty, the following conditions must be met:
- The Moissanite stone must be damaged.
- The original GRA certificate must be returned with the stone in good condition.
- Digital or photocopied certificates will not be accepted.
If the above criteria are met, the stone will be replaced at no cost to you. Please note this warranty does not extend to the setting or any other elements of the ring.
Gift Returns
- If the item was marked as a gift at the time of purchase and shipped directly to you, a gift credit will be issued for the return value. Once received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
- If the item was not marked as a gift, or the purchaser had it shipped to themselves before gifting it to you, the refund will be issued to the original purchaser.

Ring Sizing & Resizing Policy
Gems & Stuff offers a professional ring resizing service, which requires 6 business days for completion.
- Customer Responsibility: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the correct ring size is selected before purchasing. Gems & Stuff cannot be held liable for incorrect sizing decisions made by the customer.
- Resizing & Shipping Costs: If a ring requires resizing after purchase, the customer will be responsible for both the resizing fee and shipping costs.
- Gold-plated rings from our Anniversary Collection cannot be re-sized and will need to be remade to your required ring size and will have a 5-week leadtime.
- Third-Party Workmanship: Gems & Stuff will not be held responsible for any alterations or repairs conducted by a third-party jeweller.
Resizing Fees:
- Sterling Silver: R350 per ring
- 9ct & 18ct Gold (Yellow, White, or Rose) or Platinum : R600 per ring
New Ring Mount Costs:
- 9ct Gold (Yellow, White, or Rose): R3,500 (5-week processing time)
- Sterling Silver: R600 (5-week processing time)
G&S Ring Sizing Kit
To ensure accurate sizing, we highly recommend purchasing our ring sizing kit before placing an order.
- Customers who purchase the ring sizing kit will receive a R250 voucher to use towards their next jewellery purchase or ring upgrade.
- The voucher is non-transferable and may only be used by the original purchaser. Thus, should be purchased on the same account as the any previous purchases. It cannot be gifted or shared.
- The voucher cannot be applied toward repairs, shipping costs, assessments, engraving, or resizing services.
- The voucher is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
Important Note: If a customer measures their ring size incorrectly, whether using our ring sizing kit or another method, Gems & Stuff cannot be held liable for any resulting errors. Lead-Time Orders
All lead-time orders require 5 weeks for production. However, due to ongoing load-shedding disruptions, delays may occur. Once completed, your order will be shipped accordingly.
Cancellations & Refunds:
- Any cancellation or refund request for a lead-time order will be subject to a 30% cancellation fee of the total purchase price.
Bespoke & Custom Design Service
Bespoke or custom-designed items refer to unique pieces that are not part of our standard collections available for purchase on our website.
- This service is exclusively available for items crafted in platinum or 9ct, 14ct, 18ct gold (yellow, white, or rose).
- A 30% non-refundable deposit of the total purchase price is required. In the event of a cancellation after order acceptance, this deposit will be retained.
- Customers may exchange a bespoke item for another item of equal or higher value, refunds will be processed less the non-refundable 30% deposit.
Lead Time:
- The production timeline for bespoke/custom pieces is 5 weeks, after which the item will be shipped.

Shipping & Returns
1. Shipping Policy
Gems & Stuff offers free shipping on all jewellery purchases. Delivery times are as follows:
- National Deliveries: Orders will be delivered within 3–4 business days.
- Cape Town Deliveries: Orders within Cape Town will be delivered on the same business day or the next business day, depending on the time of purchase.
- All orders qualify for free shipping. An “order” is defined as a single shipment containing all items purchased together. If you request that items within an order be shipped separately, an additional fee of R150 will be charged for each split shipment.
2. Returns & Exchanges
To initiate a return, exchange, or repair, please contact Gems & Stuff to arrange for courier collection, as we do not offer a pick-up or drop-off service.
- Return Shipping Costs: The cost of courier collection for exchanges, refunds, or repairs is borne by the customer.
- Shipping Fees: Shipping fees are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your total refund amount.
- Shipping Rates: Courier collection and delivery fees are R150 each way (i.e., R150 for collection and R150 for return delivery).
- Delivery Time for Exchanges: The timeframe for receiving an exchanged product may vary depending on your location.

Sale Policy
Please note that all items purchased during our Winter Sale & Black Friday Sale are considered final sale.
No Refunds: We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any Winter Sale or Black Friday Sale items. By proceeding with a purchase, you acknowledge and accept this condition.
Exclusion from Promotions: Winter Sale & Black Friday Sale purchases do not qualify for any additional promotional offers, including our free wedding band promotion.
We encourage customers to review their order carefully before completing their purchase. If you have any questions prior to checkout, our team is available to assist.
Free Wedding Band Promotion
Eligibility
Customers will receive a complimentary sterling silver or sterling silver gold-plated wedding band with the purchase of any qualifying Moissanite engagement ring that displays the "Free Wedding Band" banner on our website.
Terms & Conditions
- The complimentary wedding band is provided as a gift and cannot be returned for cash or exchanged.
- This promotion is not valid for bespoke, custom-designed rings or 9ct Gold Collection.
- Should resizing be necessary, the cost of resizing will be the responsibility of the customer.
- Shipping costs for returns or exchanges will be borne by the customer.
- This promotion does not apply to any ring upgrades made after the initial purchase.
General Terms
Gems & Stuff reserves the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time, without prior notice.
Gold-plated Jewellery
Our gold-plated jewellery items, including rings, are designed with elegance and durability in mind. However, it's important to note the following care and usage guidelines:
Sizing and Adjustments: Adjustable rings are specifically suitable for ring sizes ranging from J½ to T. Bending the ring beyond these recommended sizes may weaken the metal, leading to potential damage or snapping. Gems & Stuff cannot be held liable for any damages resulting from improper adjustments.
Gold Plating: All our gold-plated jewelry, including those made of sterling silver and plated with rose or yellow gold, are not solid gold. As with any plated jewelry, the plating will wear off over time. The longevity of the plating is influenced by factors such as individual body chemistry (e.g., acidity levels), frequency of wear, exposure to surfaces, and contact with chemicals. Gold-plated rings from our Anniversary Collection cannot be re-sized and will need to be remade to your required ring size and will have a 5-week leadtime.
Warranty and Assessments: Due to the inherent nature of plated jewelry, the wearing away of the plating is considered a natural occurrence and does not qualify for warranty or assessment coverage. We cannot offer exchanges, refunds, or replacements in cases where the plating has worn off, or the item has been dented, scratched, or broken due to wear and tear or overuse.
Online Store Terms
By accepting these Terms of Service, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your country or province of residence, or that you have obtained the necessary consent from a legal guardian to allow any minor dependents to use this site.
You agree not to use our products for any unlawful or unauthorized purposes, and you shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to copyright laws, in your jurisdiction.
You must not transmit any malicious software, such as worms, viruses, or any other code of a destructive nature.
Any breach or violation of these Terms will result in the immediate termination of your access to our services.

Rest assured, credit card information is always encrypted during transmission over networks to ensure security.

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours and images of our products that appear at the store. We cannot guarantee that your computer monitor's display of any colour will be accurate.
We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to limit the sales of our products or Services to any person, geographic region, or jurisdiction. We may exercise this right on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer. All descriptions of products or product pricing are subject to change at any time without notice, at the sole discretion of us. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time. Any offer for any product or service made on this site is void where prohibited.
We do not warrant that the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations, or that any errors in the Service will be corrected.

We reserve the right to limit or prohibit orders that, in our sole judgment, appear to be placed by dealers, re-sellers or distributors.

You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and credit card numbers and expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.
